Controversy by Child Abuse - Cecilia Velez Gonzalez.
ReplyDeleteThe last edition of the Vogue magazine caused it's director to quit because of a controversy raised by pictures of girls aged between 5 and 7 posing in sensual ways, with loads of make-up, high heels and inapropiate clothing.
These pictures didn't just raise ahuge controversy but also caused that brands such as Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton and Givenchy threatened to remove their publicity from the magazine.
Lots of comments were made by the public, criticizing the promoters and parents for allowing this kind of behavior.
Ecomomical Impact: Well, this would affect a lot Vogue magazine in the Economical part, because if such important brands take out their publicity, the magazing would stop selling and would have to cut it.
Social Impact: this affects the society because of the diverse opinions given by the public. What do you think? Is this child abuse?
Political Impact: in the political part, the country (USA) will realize that in the child abuse subject there qould always be diverse opinions and would have to reevaluate this case.

ReplyDeleteI think that the prince was very unfair and disrespectfull because he made a deal with the ones that were going to sell him the necles.
They made a deal but he broke the promess . That proves that he is not a transparent man because at firts he lied to the jewerles then he changed the price and finally he posponed the paying day
Well, I think that the prince trick them because he didn’t want them to know that they have no money to buy a so expensive necklace so he try to negotiate the price but it still be too expensive so he told them that the queen won’t buy it which it bad because they had made a deal and he was breaking it.
ReplyDeleteI think the cardinal was dishonest to the jewelers because he made a fool of them by deceiving them into thinking that first he was going to pay the exact price for the diamond necklace, then making them think he was going to pay less, and at last not paying at all! And I think that the cardinal was disrespectful to the queen by telling the jewelers she did not want to pay that much when she didn’t even know anything about issue. I really do not think it was the jewelers’ fault because it was the prince the one who was buying the necklace and it’s supposed that people with that power should be trustworthy and fair.
ReplyDeleteI think that the prince was very unfair because he make a deal knowing that he don´t have the money to pay it so he were going to trick the people that were selling the expensive necklace. I think that if you going to make a promes you have to do it and no just say a lot of words that you don´t going to do like the prince.

I think that the cardinal was very disrispectful with both the jewelers and the queen, he tricked the jewelers making them think that the queen was behind this but she didnt even knew about the excistance of the necklace! this also damaged the queen´s reputation -even more. This cardinal was disrispectful to the jewelers not only for not paying for the necklace but also for tricking them for months and by not valuing their work trying to always lower the price of the necklace. He was dishonest to these people and made them think that he was a decent, sincere guy who he clearly wasnt, and many people got in trouble and suffered the concequences of the cardinals acts.
ReplyDeletePoli as you didn' answer my mail, I'm poting it here....
In my own opinion, the prince was not an honest man, actually he lied about the time of paying and the price of the necklace after making a deal with the jewelers. if you make a deal with someone you have to keep it and not just break it like its nothing. If the prince wasnt going to keep so he might not make deals like that one.
ReplyDeleteI think that the prince was dishonest because he lied and tricked the jewelers about the price and the day that was supposed to pay the necklace. The prince would think before making the deal, he need to think if he can buy it and if he can pay the day its suppose to be paid.A deal is to keep it not to broke it or to forget about it for months and months.

NEW: Egypt’s Economy Is Near Paralysis
ReplyDeleteThe Businesses are closed and workers are sanded home or abroad; food staples were delivered to the stores were closed for a week when many Egyptians, usually paid monthly, will receive their paychecks.
The bank closures also affect international companies.
Fuel supplies were not reaching many service stations.
One agency was raised prices for each product and told poor Egyptians who could eat two meals a day to get ahead.
President Mubarak said there were few weeks to fix everything or begin the scarcity of food and a great economic crisis
"I'd rather live with hunger or die of fear"
The workers were taking turns to ensure that all facilities and vehicles were monitored 24 hours a day from looters and thieves.
Political impact: the politicians do not know what to do, they do their best to protect everything, but things get out of control
Economic impact: people do not have food, big business do not have a way to import the products because the Suez canal is closed and people do not have enough money to buy food because they are running out of work then international businesses are losing their products, also the way of transportation is very difficult because there's no gas.
Social impact: The tourists are flying away and no one wants to go there.

Truckers strike in Bogota
ReplyDeleteTruckers are doing a strike, they are asking for the governors to increase their pay. The government didn´t accept so truckers stop transporting food and other needs until the governors agree with them.
Without the transportation of the food and needs, not just in Bogota but in the rest of the country, food is running out.
Vice president, Angelino Garzón offered the truckers a proposal that its going to be showed next Wednesday and already showed to president Juan Manuel Santos.
Because of the meeting with Pedro Aguilar (truckers representative), the strike was tried to be over, it didn’t work but we all expect the strike to stop with an agreement between government and truckers.
Political aspect: the government will be known as a weak government because they are not able to control a situation like that. Governors are finding some solutions to make an agreement between the truckers and them, but they are not enough, they need to work a little bit more or find more efficient solutions so they can finish that strike.
Economical aspect: The export products are transported by the truckers, if they stop driving their trucks because of the strike, there will be no exportation so our economy will be affected. If the truckers block the passage we will be affected economically too because tourists will not be able to go around those places because there is no way.
Social: people and foreigners will think we don’t have the capacity to control those type of situations, so we´ll be affected if we don’t find the solution to end the strike, it will increase and tourists will stop coming, foreigners may leave the country and there can be more problems.
