The Industrial Revolution took place in England, because of them having a lot of resources, they had a huge and successful economy, they had power and an excellent location because of it being an Island. They were all great sailors and the country had a lot of navigable rivers, which allowed them to transport their goods. Before this Revolution there was the Agricultural movement. In it they created the enclosure (a “gathering” of land for a goal such as the rotating crops) On the other side there was a guy called Jethro Tull; he started thinking that it was better to plant seeds in order, so he created a seed planting drill. This helped them increase their productions. By that time they invented the steam working machines, such as the train. • The textiles were the second step that led to the Industrial Rev.

After Polly told us today’s homework:
* Enter to the blog and write your opinion about Marie Antoinette’s Article that she had posted.
Later She started to introduce us the first unit topic “The French Revolution” by telling us some important things that occurred on it, and some important aspects, like:
-She talked about Marie Antoinette, her life, that only with 12 years she got married with Luis XIV, and only being a teenager she was France’s Queen, but with no idea of what to do, because she had no one to tell her what she was suppose to do.
-Also we started to make a time line remembering what happens on each of the ages, which can show us when French Revolution took place.
<---Ancient times---MiddleAges---Renascience--||------------>
||: French Revolution.
-We defined REVOLUTION: A drastic change between something and what goes on change the way things are done.
-She told us that in that age decapitation was always applicated to the ones that were traidors.
-People weren’t really happy because they didn’t have food to eat and they were supposed to pay so expensive taxes.
-Another thing was that Napoleon created a council a government, and helped France to get back lots of things, like Church and reorganize map as it was before the Revolution.

Development: After Polly took attendance we did the evaluation of the period, the conclusions are that we liked:
a) Reading the whole class, not individually. Polly said we would have to make reading by ourselves once in a while.
b) The way Polly explains and the introductions she made before each new theme.
c) The way the book explains.
d) Protocols, because they are an easy way to remember the previous classes.
e) News, because we get to know about many things that are happening on the world.
We didn’t like:
a) When the seniors’ came to the Congress of Vienna because they made us do things faster and it is difficult for us. However Polly was proud of the work of some of us.
b) We think the Colombia topic should be in Spanish but Guillo don’t let us.
c) Sources on the accumulative are very difficult. But they are for preparing us for other exams.
Polly said she would like if:
a) We asked her questions when we needed them.
b) She could make more activities on the campus, including accumulatives because she doesn’t like wasting paper.
c) We made a bigger effort because she thinks Social Studies is very easy to pass.
Finally she gave us the accumulatives and answered some questions, with the book, about the Industry Revolution.

Development: The class started when Polly told us we were going to start a new topic: The Industrial Revolution, which started in the 1700’s, while after sometime the French Revolution started in France.
In it they created the enclosure (a “gathering” of land for a goal such as the rotating crops)
On the other side there was a guy called Jethro Tull; he started thinking that it was better to plant seeds in order, so he created a seed planting drill. This helped them increase their productions.
By that time they invented the steam working machines, such as the train.
• The textiles were the second step that led to the Industrial Rev.
Then we talked about the fair working conditions, and how they were in our country.
After all this we started an activity from the book on page 722; exercices: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, which we will finish next class.
